Further to my post about Heap Analytics and because I run both Google Analytics and Heap Analytics on a web property I manage, one interesting point is worth noting. The Heap Analytics Event Visualizer is an amazing functionality working on top of your live website. It is an embedded layout to your live pages.
The URL of your live pages is modified such as “/?heap-event-visualizer=on” is the suffix appended to the end of the your live page URL and that triggers the functionality described. Consequently, the page such as www.yourwebsite.com/?heap-event-visualizer=on appears as a separate page in your Google Analytics (GA) report, if you run GA in parallel.
Applying the right filter on the right view of the right Google Analytics property does the job and removes the inelegant “heap event visualizer” referral.
